Elite Scality Partner Status
Date: 10.01.2025
We are thrilled to announce that Venturi Technology Solutions has achieved the highest tier partner status with Scality. We are one of a half-dozen partners nationwide with this Elite Partner honor, and it is a reflection of our strategic focus in the unstructured data market.

Scality Usable vs. Raw Licensing Explained
Date: 09.12.2025
Here, we want to combine two previous topics and create a better-together story. Take SuperMicro's extreme density plus Scality RING's GEO license, and add a new topic: Scality RING's usable capacity-based license. As we talked about earlier, the competition licenses raw capacity.
In our picture below, 12 servers with 90 x 24TB HDD's is 26PB of raw capacity. This is what most companies would make you license. Scality uniquely factors out protection overhead. Meaning, a single site standard 9 + 3 protection scheme only requires 18PB of licensing.
Contrast that with a use case that demands more protection. Using a 3 rack stretched architecture, Scality provides far more resiliency with the same licensed capacity: 18PB. The competition would require licensing for 32.5PB. This is an extreme cost-savings with far better data durability and availability.

Extreme Rack Density for Unstructured Data
Date: 08.18.2025
30PB of enterprise SAS in a single 48RU rack. With the Super Micro SuperServer SSG-542B-E1CR90, this 4U top-loading storage server with 90 drive bays adds unparalleled cost efficiency for large PB-scale data lakes. On premise S3 storage can now be measured in fractions of pennies per GB, per month.
An example architecture featuring 12 of these SMC SuperServers can, in a single rack, protect 22PB of application data against 3 simultaneous server failures. This is a new definition of truly resilient infrastructure. Provides easily twice the performance of standard AWS S3 at the cost of AWS Glacier.
For a more detailed explanation about how we can leverage this, please see the datasheet here.

Scality RING GEO Licensing Explained
Date: 07.07.2025
In most unstructured data storage deployments, licenses are based on some sort of capacity model. Details are numerous and varied, but in general, this truth remains the same. Every site requires more licensing. When your application writes data to two locations, creating two copies, in order to create the distributed data protection that you desire not only does this take twice as much hardware, but also twice as much licensing. Scality RING GEO licensing fundamentally changes this reality.
Suppose you had 1PB of Scality infrastructure at site A, and another 1PB at site B. This becomes a 1PB license. Continue to add data protection, with additional sites (or copies) of your dataset, without adding any additional licensing. Repeat: No additional licensing costs. If this sounds interesting, or if you need more details, reach out and we will explain more.
